The Manor, constructed in the 16th century, was commissioned by Robert de Thumery in 1535 during the reign of François I. It was later completed in 1550 under Henri II by Claude de Lorraine, the first Duke of Guise. This historic estate served as a hunting ground for Henri IV on numerous occasions. In 1679, a chapel dedicated to St Peter and St Paul was added to the property. In 1893, the Windsor family, renowned English industrialists, acquired the Hermos Manor and transformed it into their family estate. Conveniently located just 70 minutes from Paris, the Manor is nestled within a 12-hectare park adorned with various tree species. The park offers enchanting views of the walkway and the lake, creating a serene atmosphere that truly captures the essence of Normandy. The Manor features two bedrooms, both equipped with their own bathroom and toilet facilities. The "Peony" room boasts a double bed and two single beds, offering a picturesque view of the walkway and the lake. To reach your destination, follow these travel directions:
To start, refer to Michelin map N°55 fold N°15. If you are coming from Paris, Rouen, or Caen, take the A13 highway and then the A28 highway until you reach junction 13, known as « Domaine d’Harcourt ». At this junction, take a left onto the D438 road and continue for 400 meters. Then, turn right onto the D92 road and drive for 1.5 kilometers. If you are coming from Evreux on the D613 road, you need to turn right at the junction called « Les Quatre Routes » onto the D840 road towards Le Neubourg. After passing Le Neubourg and Le Gros Theil, take a left onto the D92 road and follow the signs for « Hermos ». For those coming from Alençon and Bernay, take the A28 highway until you reach junction N°13, and then follow the instructions mentioned above.
