The common Mauguio Carnon is situated just 10 minutes east of Montpellier. It is a melting pot of marshes, rice fields, vineyards, and woodland, making it a diverse and captivating location. The Camargue, where Mauguio Carnon is located, is a country that seamlessly blends land and water, tradition and modernity. It is a place full of nuances and unique landscapes.Throughout its history, Mauguio has been closely connected to the natural environment, leading to the development of various traditional industries such as salt production, reed cutting, and viticulture. This region is also known for its extraordinary cultural connection between bulls, horses, and humans.
Mauguio is conveniently situated between Nimes and Montpellier, with easy access to the A9 motorway. The bull, known as "biou," holds a sacred place in the local culture, and their names can be found on Camargue race posters.

La Petite Camargue is a place that sparks the imagination of visitors through its horses, bulls, and birds. The daily lives of the people who inhabit this region are also fascinating to discover.
Mauguio Carnon serves as the gateway to the Camargue, with the town's two poles facing the Etang de l'Or. The city of Mauguio has a rich history, dating back to the Middle Ages, and is known for its Spanish community. The city extends over 7500 hectares, including the lake of Gold and extensive market gardens, orchards, and vineyards.
The Etang de l'Or is a beautiful wetland of national importance, home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. It is a haven for birds and offers a unique natural heritage experience. The area also boasts excellent farmland, contributing to the agricultural production of the region.
Carnon, with its barrier beach and marina, is a popular summer destination for tourists. The six kilometers of protected dunes and beaches are renowned for their pristine sand and water. The marina has gained a reputation and offers a variety of activities throughout the summer.
One of the city's key advantages is its proximity to Montpellier-Méditerranée International Airport, making it easily accessible. Mauguio's flat land, situated between swamps and the city, is often frequented by riders, and the area has numerous stables and nearby herds.
