Description:

Description for B&B:

St. Jeanvrin, a small town located in the southern region of Bourges, Cher, holds significance for the family as their ancestral home. The house itself is named in honor of their roots.

The name "Jeanvrin" is a local variation of "Januarius," referring to St. Januarius of Naples. He was a bishop and martyr in Naples, who is revered as one of the fifty patrons chosen by the people of Naples. Throughout history, he has been known to offer protection against calamities such as the plague in various years, including 1497, 1631, 1698, 1767, and 1779. His divine intervention was particularly sought during the potential devastation caused by the eruption of Vesuvius.

St. Januarius is also renowned for the miracle of his blood. For over 600 years, his dried blood has been observed to liquefy three times annually in the Cathedral of Naples, serving as a testament to his revered status.
