Throughout history, he has been known to offer protection against calamities such as the plague in various years, including 1497, 1631, 1698, 1767, and 1779. His divine intervention was particularly sought during the potential devastation caused by the eruption of Vesuvius.
St. Januarius is also renowned for the miracle of his blood. For over 600 years, his dried blood has been observed to liquefy three times annually in the Cathedral of Naples, serving as a testament to his revered status.
