Description for Gite

Welcome to Tauleigne, a vacation house located on the border of a vast forest, offering a serene and picturesque setting. Situated on the south side of a mountain, the property boasts stunning views and is protected from the Mistral winds by nearby cliffs. Tauleigne is located in the community of Bollène, in the department of Vaucluse, and within the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The entrance to the property is accessed through the charming village of Saint-Restitut in Drôme, Rhône-Alpes.

Getting to Tauleigne is easy, with convenient access from the A7 highway, taking the Bollène exit and following the provided itinerary for 7 kilometers.

The property spans 32 acres and is covered with majestic oak and evergreen oak trees, surrounded by a breathtaking landscape of rocks and cliffs, with the ruins of the Château de Chabrière adding to its charm. The property features beautiful paths that wind through the grounds, offering exceptional views of the countryside of Bollène, the dentelles de Montmirail, and the Mont Ventoux. A grass garden, lined with laurel roses, lavender, snatolines, and rosemary, leads to a small oak wood, providing shaded areas for relaxation. The swimming pool is perfect for both calm moments and children's enjoyment. Additionally, there is a barbecue area in a consolidated ruin and a large garden table for al fresco dining. The terraces surrounding the house are ideal for playing pétanque, and the local cabana near the pool houses the pool filters, a washer, a refrigerator, and toilets.

The garden and swimming pool are maintained twice a week, with automatic sprinklers ensuring their upkeep.

The house itself can accommodate 10 to 12 people and is a beautiful example of a traditional Provençal stone house from the early 19th century. The façade boasts two front doors, one leading to the living room and the other to the kitchen.

On the first floor, there are three interconnected rooms with stone walls and tiled floors. The kitchen, located on the left upon entering, features a vintage mantle and is equipped with modern amenities including a sink, electric burners, an electric oven, a dishwasher, and all the necessary utensils. The kitchen also has a dining area with a table and chairs. To the right of the kitchen, there is an ancient stone sink that is integrated into the original stone wall and leads to the living room.

The living room is situated in the center of the house and features well-preserved stone walls and a ceiling made of wooden logs and large planks. A wood hearth provides additional warmth during colder seasons, while comfortable couches and armchairs offer a cozy space for reading or watching television. The living room also has a cordless telephone for convenience. The dining room, with its large table, is perfect for gathering all guests, and the stone walls add to the character of the space.

The second floor can be accessed via a staircase hidden in the living room and leads to a hallway with five interior doors and one exterior door in the old wall. The first door on the right opens to a spacious bedroom with a double bed, night tables, a dresser, and storage space. The room offers picturesque views of the garden and swimming pool and can accommodate an infant's bed if required. There is also a telephone jack in this room. The second door on the right leads to a closet that is not accessible to guests. The exterior door in the old wall serves as a window, allowing light and air into the hallway.

The third door in the hallway leads to a bathroom with a sink, a shower/bath with a thermostatic control mixer tap, and a charming ambiance created by white tiles with orange flower designs. The fourth door grants access to the second bedroom, featuring a double bed, night tables, and a built-in wardrobe.

To the left of the staircase, there is a very old door that opens to the entrance of the second hallway, which leads to three doors and a staircase. The first door is a toilet, while the second door leads to a dynamic bathroom with colored tiles, a shower/bath, a sink, and shelving arrangements. The third door leads to a youth room with two single beds, one of which has a pull-out bed.

The staircase leads to a dormitory on the mansard-roofed third floor, divided by a wardrobe. The dormitory features two beds on each side, with two of the beds having pull-out options, allowing for a total of six people to sleep comfortably. The rooms on the second and third floors, except for the bathrooms and toilets, have polished pine wood floors.

In addition to the tranquility of the property, there are numerous nearby attractions and activities to enjoy. The surrounding cliffs offer scenic walking and mountain biking trails, and visitors can explore the charming stone-age village and the Château de Barry and Château de Chabrière. The plateau offers exceptional panoramic views, and visitors can even tour the aging cellars of the Celliers du Dauphin. Saint-Restitut is known for its converted stone quarries that now serve as a theater of images, projecting various themes. During the lavender season from June to July, the region comes alive with vibrant lavender fields, perfect for leisurely walks. The area is also rich in historical and cultural attractions, including the Mont Ventoux, Avignon and its famous Palais des Papes, the Roman ruins of Orange and Vaison-la-Romaine, the Château de Grignan and Château de Suz-la-Rousse, and the Abbey de Sénanque, among many others. Additionally, the region offers delightful markets, antique markets, natural wonders like the Gorges du Verdon and Gorges de l'Ardèche, wine routes, festivals, and various museums.

For those seeking a beach getaway, the sea is just over an hour away, while the mountains of Verdon and the Alps are within easy reach for outdoor activities such as skiing.

Come and experience the beauty and tranquility of Tauleigne, a vacation house that offers the perfect blend of nature, history, and relaxation in the heart of Provence.
