Description for B&B:
Le Gaudin is a charming 18th-century farmhouse that has been transformed into a luxurious 5-bedroom bed and breakfast. Situated on the grounds of an ancient Abbey in the heritage area of Suisse Normande, this hidden gem is surrounded by picturesque woodlands and nestled in a tranquil valley. The house holds a special place in history, as it was once a watering spot for pilgrims on their way to Mont-St-Michel.Preserving the original character of the farmhouse, we have carefully restored and enhanced the property to cater to the needs of discerning modern travelers. Each detail of Le Gaudin reflects the creativity and charm of the region, from the exposed stone walls to the grand fireplace and the long communal table where guests gather for delightful dinners.
Occupying a spacious 4-acre site, the property boasts lush lawns and its very own lake. The serene woodland surroundings offer a peaceful ambiance where the melodies of singing birds and the gentle thud of falling horse chestnuts in autumn can be enjoyed. As the area is blessed with minimal light pollution, stargazing here is truly a mesmerizing experience.
Every bedroom at Le Gaudin is designed as a luxurious suite, providing ample space, en-suite bathrooms, and breathtaking views. Each room has its own unique style and details that not only ensure comfort but also immerse guests in the local way of life.
Whether it's cozying up by the crackling log fire with a glass of Calvados, indulging in a captivating book on our comfortable sofas, or enjoying great company and delectable meals at our expansive dining table, Le Gaudin promises an unforgettable stay. The property also offers a variety of WWII artifacts, picture books, and other hidden treasures to explore, ensuring that there is always something fascinating to discover.
We understand the importance of starting the day right, which is why we take breakfast very seriously at Le Gaudin.
