Welcome to our guest house for rent in Charente Maritime, near La Rochelle on the beautiful Atlantic coast. This independent guesthouse offers a high level of comfort and is located inside a closed property with a lot of trees and a big swimming pool.The guesthouse is suitable for four persons and spans 60 sqm. The large and well-exposed living room includes a lounge corner with a TV and a chimney, a dining room corner, and a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. The living room opens onto a large terrace bordering the swimming pool, complete with armchairs for sunbathing. There are two sleeping rooms, one with a 140cm bed and the other with two 90cm beds, as well as a washroom and toilets.
Charente Maritime benefits from a usually very sunny weather, similar to the Mediterranean coast but without the strong winds like mistral or Tramontane. The guesthouse is located in the small village of Poléon, part of the de Saint Georges du Bois commune, situated near Surgères, which has a TGV train station and all amenities. Paris is about 400 km away by toll road, and La Rochelle and Rochefort are both 30 km away. Poléon is located at the border of the famous "Green Venise," a part of the Marais-Poitevin. The charming Island of Ré is only 30 minutes away, with its local harbor and fine sand beaches.
During your stay, there are plenty of activities to enjoy. On-site, you can swim in the 12m x 6m swimming pool, play ping-pong, 'pétanque', and engage in other outdoor activities. You can also take short trips by foot or bicycle in the Aunis county, and there are tennis and horse riding facilities in Saint Georges du Bois.
In the neighborhood, you can visit the Venise Verte and take boat, canoe, or bike excursions. The beaches offer various activities such as sailing, surfing, and funboarding. There are also options for bowling, fishing, karting, and playing 18 holes of golf nearby. Day trips to the islands are also possible, whether by car to Île de Ré and Île d'Oléron, or by boat to Île d'Aix and fort Boyard.
Don't miss the opportunity to visit La Rochelle and explore the old city and the old harbor, as well as the aquarium. Rochefort offers attractions like la corderie Royale, la Pierre Loti house, and the Hermione construction site, while Brouage boasts impressive fortifications.
