Welcome to our beautiful holiday property in Confolens! Our spacious house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people in 4 stylish and comfortable bedrooms. With 2 bathrooms and fast and free WIFI available throughout the house, you'll have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Located down a quiet side lane with a view of the river and its bridges, our house is situated in the most historic area of Confolens. This central location means that all the charming bars and restaurants in town are right on our doorstep or just a short picturesque walk away. You can leave your car parked and fully embrace the friendly ambiance of the town without worrying about taxi journeys. (see handy map of Confolens below)

Every bedroom and living room window features a garde corps, a traditional French balcony guard. Apart from adding to the attractive French architecture, these guards also provide an important safety aspect for holiday makers, ensuring a safe and enjoyable stay at Lancienne Forge Holiday Let Confolens.

We have created a stylish French holiday home that has everything you need to self-cater. You can enjoy dining and relaxing at home, using the fresh and extra tasty organic produce often grown and sold by local gardeners in one of the market days in town or within the region. Combine this with the renowned bread and wine of France, with very good quality wines available from just two Euros, and you have the perfect ingredients for a French evening.

Just 200 meters from our door, you'll find a beautiful public park and picnic area. This beach on the river Vienne is a short walk from the house, nestled between a picturesque weir with a water mill and the town's road bridge. During the summer season, there is a sandy beach zone where you can take a picnic basket and enjoy a meal in the fresh air on one of the several picnic benches or on a blanket. This area also offers boat hire from a professional kayak and boat hire service, adding to the holiday atmosphere during high season.

A further walk up the river will lead you to Confolens' own open-air swimming pool with water flumes. Located alongside the River Vienne, this pool offers countryside views and is a great way to enjoy the glorious summer in the Charente region, which boasts plenty of sunshine hours and high temperatures. Soak up the sun on a sunbed, take a dip in the pool, have fun, and don't forget the sun cream!

We are located in the heart of the ancient town of Confolens, which is truly romantic France at its best. It is a joy to behold and one of the most attractive old towns in the country. Confolens has been a central trade route since Roman times, owing its name to the confluence where rivers meet. The town's historic 8th Century Roman bridge, Vieux Pont, spans the wide and majestic river Vienne. The bridge, which once had three defensive towers, can be seen on the town's coat of arms.

Confolens is a town rich in culture and music, with many festivals taking place throughout the year. The renowned week-long international folk music festival in August is the jewel in the crown. With plenty of entertainment options for the whole family, please take a look at our guide of entertainment in and around the town on the Ville de Confolens tab (above left).

Confolens is approximately a 40-minute drive from Limoge airport, which is served by Ryanair with flights from several UK airports including East Midlands, Leeds-Bradford, and Manchester. The small and efficient airport makes for a pleasant 1-hour and 30-minute flight, eliminating the standard hassle of holidaying. Once on the roads, despite driving on the opposite side to the UK, you'll find them relaxing to travel on with less traffic and population. Come, explore, and relax in the Poitou Charente region, which offers miles of glorious countryside, beautiful villages, towns, and larger cities such as Poitiers. Use Confolens as a beautiful base for your holiday.

C'est le bonheur!
