Description for Gite
Welcome to Mas de la Gache, a charming 17th-century farm that has been lovingly restored by us, Esmé, Eddie, Julia, and Lucie, over the past 12 years. Alongside our small-stock farming, we have also built a beautiful holiday apartment, which will be available for rent this summer. Our "Mas" is peacefully situated just outside the village, a pleasant 15-minute walk away, and is separated from it by the tranquil river Cèze. This distance allows us to create our own little piece of paradise, free from the noise of traffic, bright streetlights, bustling holiday resorts, and nosy neighbors. Instead, you will be greeted by the soothing sounds of birds and treehoppers, the cheerful chirping of chicks, and the crowing of roosters. We offer fresh eggs and real tomatoes, and the majority of the year boasts a pleasant climate. In essence, our place is perfect for rest and relaxation, a haven for long siestas in the shade of riverside trees, leisurely breakfasts, and delicious dinners made with fresh ingredients.
For a reasonable price, you can experience the best of the deep south of France, surrounded by space and tranquility. We truly appreciate the calmness that envelops our farm and hope that you can enjoy it during your stay here. Picture waking up in the morning, sipping coffee while listening to the birdsong and the gentle murmur of the river. Life in the south is meant to be lived outdoors, but we have also created an 80 m2 apartment on the first floor of one of the barns. With a roof terrace overlooking the yard, two double (or triple) bedrooms with private bathrooms, and a spacious open living/kitchen area, the apartment offers a cool and comfortable retreat during the warm summer days.
Inside, you will find all the necessary comforts for your stay, including a well-equipped kitchen, television, a cozy woodstove, and heated bathrooms. Outside, there is plenty of space to play, walk, or simply relax. Goudargues, a charming village with a population of around 1000, is nearby. Steeped in history, the village retains traces of its past that can be seen throughout. Known as "La Venice Gardoise" in the department of Le Gard, Goudargues features picturesque canals that wind through its center. It serves as the hub of eco-tourism in the area, offering a range of amenities such as bakeries, butchers, hairdressers, beauty parlors, a village supermarket, various bars and restaurants, a post office, tourist information, and unique shops. Despite its popularity with visitors, Goudargues maintains a laid-back atmosphere where you can enjoy a cold beer or pastis on one of the terraces, shaded by the magnificent 200-year-old "platanes" trees.
Come and experience the serenity and beauty of Mas de la Gache, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and embrace the relaxed pace of southern France.
