Description for Gite
Located in the serene countryside of the Perigord Noir, Le Petit Chambon offers a tranquil retreat between the charming village of Gabillou and the hamlet of Pauliac. This delightful gite serves as an excellent base for exploring the numerous attractions of the Dordogne region, including Hautefort, Sarlat, the famous Lascaux caves, and much more. With its recent renovation just two years ago, Le Petit Chambon features a cozy lounge area complete with a wood burner, as well as a fully equipped "cuisine americane" boasting a large electric oven, gas hob, coffee maker, kettle, and toaster. Should you wish to experiment with new recipes during your stay, we are more than happy to provide additional equipment, herbs, and spices. Alternatively, if you prefer to unwind and dine out, there are several local restaurants just a short drive away. The spacious bedroom overlooks the picturesque courtyard and can be arranged with either a double bed and an additional single or three single beds for those traveling with friends. The gite also offers a generous "wet room" style shower and toilet, along with a separate toilet and basin. Additionally, there is a convenient laundry room equipped with a washing machine. Bedlinen and towels are provided and changed on a weekly basis for your comfort. Whether you choose to relax by the pool or indulge in a good book at the charming blue table and chairs in the courtyard, Le Petit Chambon offers a serene and inviting atmosphere. Off-road parking is available for your convenience. Furthermore, when the gite was renovated, special attention was given to ensuring accessibility for disabled guests. Please feel free to inquire for more details regarding the facilities when making your booking.Reviews

Directions
To reach Les Chambons easily by car, there are two routes you can take. The first option is to take the N89 at Thenon. Alternatively, you can take the D704 from Limoges.
If you choose to take the D704, follow these directions: After passing Saint Agnan (near Hautefort), look for the signpost for Sainte-Orse. It should be about 10 minutes away. Follow the signs for Sainte-Orse for another 10 minutes until you reach the center of the tiny village. At the small crossroads, you will see Hotel de France on the left and the Marie on the right. Take a right turn and go downhill. At the bottom of the hill, take the left turn signposted Gabillou. Stay on this road for 4km, making sure not to turn left towards Gabillou. Just after the Gabillou turning, you will see a beautiful stone cottage called Le Chambon, which is our neighbor. Les Chambons, the big house, is located on the left shortly after that. Drive past the side of the house and make a sharp right turn (slowly!) through the large iron gates into the courtyard. Please note that you may need to perform a two-point turn to enter.
If you prefer to take the N89 from Thenon, follow these instructions: When you reach the main crossroads in Thenon, turn left towards Sainte-Orse. It should be around 7km away. You will pass under the railway and motorway bridges and then see another sign for Sainte-Orse (6km). Follow the signs to Sainte-Orse, a small village. Along the way, you will also see signs for Gabillou. This is a more complicated route that we can explain to you once you have arrived for the first time. Once you reach Sainte-Orse, continue following the signs for Gabillou. Drive through the village, go downhill, and then turn left towards Gabillou. Stay on the D70 road for approximately 4km, avoiding the left turn uphill to Gabillou. Les Chambons is located just past the tiny locality of Vaudres and below the actual village of Gabillou. Follow the directions as mentioned above.
