Description:

Description for B&B:

Located in the heart of Cathar country, between the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi, and the Black Mountain, Montolieu Book Village is a must-visit destination. This charming village is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in culture or simply enjoy a leisurely getaway. Nestled in the countryside, at the end of a road by the river in a picturesque valley, stands The Forge of Montolieu. This historic building, originally an old forge and mill, has been transformed into a stunning late nineteenth-century mansion surrounded by a park. The park is a hidden gem, with ancient channels and secret paths winding through a diverse array of vegetation.

Charles and Laura Cowen welcome guests to this tranquil retreat, offering four spacious bedrooms that pay homage to the house's industrial history and its "golden age". Two of the rooms, the goddess and Madame Gazelle, are generously sized and feature views of the river to the east, while the other two rooms, ginko biloba and Ourika, provide a scenic vista of a cascading waterfall beneath the house and a majestic nature scene to the north, respectively. All the rooms are located on the first floor and are served by two large, well-appointed bathrooms overlooking the river.

Guests will have their own private space and can indulge in delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner upon request. Meals are served at a beautiful wrought iron kitchen table or, weather permitting, outside in the fresh air. For more information and reservations, please contact Charles and Laura Cowen at La Forge - Hameau de France - 11170 Montolieu.

Appréciations pour Forge de Montolieu, Montolieu:

Un lieu magique
Review by: HENRIOUD, Juin 6 2016 1:42PM
