Description for B&B:

Welcome! We are excited that you have discovered us. A vacation is a chance to escape the ordinary, and holidays provide an opportunity for fresh ideas. We invite you to spend your holidays in a peaceful and relaxing environment. Whether you enjoy hiking alone or with your family, exploring the region by bike or motorcycle, or simply seeking solitude and tranquility, Grange d'Anjeux offers a versatile range of recreational activities. With our diverse offerings, people with varying interests and needs can have a wonderful vacation or a long weekend with us.

Anjeux is located 5 km west of Saint-Loup-sur-Semouse and approximately 30 km north of the city of Vesoul. Situated at an elevation of 242 m, the village is on the northernmost edge of the department, in the Chanois stream valley to the west of the low ground of Planey, bordering the Vosges plateau.

The commune covers an area of 8.71 km² and is characterized by its slightly hilly landscape on the outskirts of the Vosges. The eastern part of the commune is occupied by the low ground of Planey, which is fed by a karst source and stretches approximately 7 km southward into the Semouse river. The valley floor has an average elevation of about 235 m and is about one kilometer wide. Within the region of Anjeux, the Planey river is joined by the Dorgeon and Chanois streams. The eastern boundary is marked by the hillock of the Fays forest, reaching a height of 303 m, which serves as a watershed in the Semouse valley.

In the northwest, the commune extends into the valley of the Chanois stream and the hills near Haute de Calenne and Charmot, reaching an elevation of approximately 260 m. The northern boundary is defined by the La Levue forest.

The neighboring towns of Anjeux include Dampvalley-Saint-Pancras and Cuve to the north, Girefontaine to the west, La Pisseure, Plainemont, and Jasney to the south, and Bouligney and Saint-Loup-sur-Semouse to the east.

Anjeux has a rich history, dating back to Roman times. During the Middle Ages, it was part of the Free County of Burgundy. Since 1271, it has been under various dominations, with Anjeux serving as the center. Over time, it came under the partial influence of the Luxeuil-les-Bains monastery and the Faucogney family. Following the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678, Anjeux became part of Franche-Comté and later France.

The Church of Anjeux, built in the 15th and 16th centuries in the flamboyant Gothic style, is classified as a historical monument. The 19th-century wash house is another notable architectural feature. South of the road from Anjeux to Bouligney, towards the low ground of Planey, you can still find remnants of the La Sarrasinière castle, nestled in a small grove.

One of the major tourist attractions is the Planey source, which showcases a mesmerizing display of blue and green hues, depending on the weather.
