Description for B&B:

Casa Marta is a charming 18th-century stone building situated in the picturesque village of Pascoso, nestled in the Apuane Park in Tuscany. With three floors spanning approximately 325 square feet each, this historical house offers ample space for comfortable living. The house comprises a well-equipped kitchen/living room, two cozy bedrooms, a full bathroom, a convenient powder room, and two spacious pantries. While there is no lawn, the downstairs bedroom opens up to an outdoor area just beyond the French doors where a small table, sunshade, and chairs can be placed. The house features two entrances – the front door leading to the kitchen/pantry and the back door accessing the downstairs bedroom. Perched on a hill, the house boasts three floors on one side and two on the other. Fully furnished with a mix of new and antique Tuscan pieces from the 19th century, Casa Marta exudes a timeless charm. Lavish light fixtures, a television with satellite connection, a radio, and a CD player are provided for your entertainment. Although a telephone is not yet installed, a public phone is available in town, and telephone, computer, and internet access can be arranged at our office. To ensure comfort during colder months, a central heating system fueled by gas has been installed. And of course, a working fireplace graces the second floor, adding to the cozy ambiance that is quintessential for a mountain house.

Description for Gite

Pascoso is a haven for nature enthusiasts, offering an immersive experience in its breathtaking surroundings. While being surrounded by nature is its main appeal, it is also conveniently located near the renowned Tuscan cities of Lucca, Pisa, Florence, and Siena, as well as popular Italian beaches like Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio, all within a 30-mile radius. Moreover, the region boasts several exquisite golf courses, including Golf Alisea, Montecatini Golf Club, Club Golf Montelupo, Tirrenia Golf Club, Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club, and Golf Club Fontevivo, all reachable within an hour's drive.

Pascoso is a paradise for hikers, with numerous mule paths suitable for mountain biking and horseback riding, with rental options available in the area. Some hiking trails require a short drive to reach the starting point, while others can be accessed directly from your doorstep. Off-road vehicle enthusiasts will find endless opportunities to explore. A dedicated section of the Turrite Stream is reserved for fishing, where trout can be found, although they may not reach significant sizes due to low water levels. The tranquility of Pascoso is only interrupted by the sounds of barking dogs and friendly conversations among the locals. The area is perfect for hiking, horseback riding (with two barns for horse rentals), and mountain biking.

Directions

To reach Pascoso, you first need to arrive in Lucca. If you're coming from North Italy (Milan) or South Italy (Rome), you'll reach Florence first. From Florence North, take the motorway towards Pisa North (Pisa Nord), without exiting onto the Milan to Rome motorway. After about 50 kilometers (35-40 miles), you'll reach Lucca. Take either the Lucca West (LUCCA OVEST) or Lucca East (LUCCA EST) exit from the motorway. In Lucca, take state road 12 (SS 12) towards Abetone/Garfagnana, following the road signs. After about 5-6 kilometers from Lucca, you'll reach Ponte a Moriano. Turn left and continue following the Abetone/Garfagnana direction. You'll come across four tunnels, and after the fourth tunnel, turn right towards Borgo a Mozzano. After about 2 miles, you'll reach Diecimo in about 5 minutes of driving. 200 meters after the road sign for "Diecimo," you'll see a Tamoil gasoline pump on the left side of the road. Another 100 meters ahead, turn left following the road sign for "Pescaglia." There's only one asphalt road. You'll reach Pescaglia first, about 8-10 kilometers from Diecimo, and then Pascoso, about 6-7 kilometers from Pescaglia.
